ABBI* SYSTEM ROOM REQUlREMENTS

A. Power Requirements

  1. 220VAC 20A line for the Control Console. The Console comes with a 14-foot cord and a 6-15P connector for the receptacle.
  2. 120VAC line for the Digitizer and/or the DSM. The DSM comes with two 6-foot standard 115VAC power cords, and the Digitizer comes with an 8-foot standard 115VAC power cord (15A).

B. Conduit/Wireway Runs

The cables are supplied at 40-foot lengths. They can be special ordered for any other length up to a 50-foot maximum. To order the length required, just add 8 feet to your total conduit length. If special lengths are not ordered, the high voltage and table power cables will be ordered upon installation, and will require the dealer to come back in and install them. The conduits must run from the bottom rear center of the ABBI* System table to the bottom rear left of the control console.

    The 3 conduit/wireways required:

  1. 1.5" conduit run for the high voltage cable.
  2. 1.5 x 3.5" wireway (or larger) with a removable cover for the control console cables. If either end has a flange to feed through, the flange must have a minimum 3" opening

If conduits are to be run instead of wireways for the table and control console cables, here are two suggestions:

    A. Use a 4" conduit if the cables must be snaked around any elbows or corners.

    B. If the wall is too narrow for 4" conduit, and they have a subceiling, run 3" conduits down the walls, and a 1.5" x 3.5" wireway through the sub-ceiling. This way there are no elbows to be snaked around, and the cables can be brought through a narrower conduit.

  3. If the ABBI* Imaging System (depending on which one was ordered) is not going to be located next to the Control Console, then a 1.5" x 2.5" wireway with a removable cover is required.

If conduits are to be used; the imaging system requires a 2" conduit, while the ABBI* Imaging System requires a 3" conduit.

C. Shielding

  1. The unit does not come with an operator's shield. The room must be designed to incorporate local, state, and federal guidelines for shielding.
  2. Leakage through the bottom of the image receptor is less than 0.002mR. At a circle measurement around the C- arm taken 1 meter away, the scatter is less than 0.05mR during a 3-second exposure.
  3. The ABBI* System uses a lead equivalent shielding of 0.3m lead for their M3 units (similar output characteristics).

D. Furniture

  1. Table or shelf to rest the imaging system on. The top of the shelf must be at least 24" wide by 18" deep. The table/shelf must be high enough to comfortably accommodate the image system for customer use (2.5' height with chair, or 3.5' height for standing).
