ABBI* System: the new standard of breast diagnosis
Minimally Invasive Breast Biopsy:
The ABBI* System improves the quality of breast biopsy. USSC's
ABBI* System combines a digital stereotactic imaging system with
the ABBI* single-use minimally invasive biopsy device. This
technology provides the ability to:
- Combine needle localization with removal of a specimen into a one-step procedure
- Gently remove a specimen through a small incision
- Target the specimen to within ±1 mm of accuracy
- Utilize local rather than general or MAC anesthesia
- Reduce OR time
- Reduce operating costs
- Reduce emotional trauma
- Provide quicker return to normal activity for the patient.
- Single pass vs. multi-pass specimen removal helps reduce biopsy time
- Continuous, non-fragmented specimen helps:
- Maintain pathological orientation
- Enhance pattern recognition for pathology which aids in the
diagnosis of atypical ductal hyperplasia, in-situ and invasive carcinomas.
