USSC ABBI* System
The Most Advanced Technique in Minimally Invasive Diagnostic Breast Biopsy

Complete 360° access to the breast

The patient may be positioned from either end of the table with the breast pendulous through the centered aperture.
  • The C-arm utilizes a full 180° arc providing 360° access to the breast, including the inferior aspect.
  • 360° access allows the needle to be placed along the shortest, most accurate path to the specimen without involving unaffected quadrants.

Centered aperture allows the patient to be positioned in either direction on the table.

ABBI* window display of 3-dimensional coordinates provides pinpoint accuracy

Large, easy to read information panel located on both sides of the ABBI* System stage for enhanced visualization.

Proven, accurate needle guidance to within ±1 mm

Utilizes cartesian X, Y, Z coordinate system, coupled with computer controlled targeting, to automatically position the biopsy device to accurately locate the lesion to within ±1mm.
  • Biopsy device remains parallel to the patient's thorax, eliminating risk of chest wall trepass.

The ABBI* System table does not use vertical angulation which could result in an upward trajectory, creating a risk of inadvertently penetrating the chest wall.

Superior image quality

The ABBI* digital imaging capability provides two customized modes of digital imaging: 512 and 1024 accurately providing best possible opportunity to visualize and target lesions to within ±1mm.
  • 512 mode: high contrast imaging to differentiate low density lesions from surrounding tissue and especially dense breast tissue.

  • 1024 mode: specifically designed for visualizing microcalcifications that require a higher spatial resolution.

  • Specimen imaging with the ABBI* System is near real-time. X-Ray image is transferred to computer within three seconds:

    -Providing maximum procedural efficiency.

    -Reducing overall procedural time.

Automated targeting

Targets are selected on the ABBI* System computer monitor and automatically transferred to needle, marker, and cannula, providing placement to within ±1mm of accuracy.
  • Multiple biopsy positions can be selected with a click of a mouse, eliminating recalculation for sequential core needle biopsy passes.
